The use of our website implies agreement to all Terms and Conditions outlined in the following statement:

Measurements and Accuracy of Dimensions:

DOORS

DRAWER FRONTS

Width then Height

DRAWER BOXES

Width then Depth followed by Height

CABINET BOXES

Width then Height followed by Depth

Scherr’s offers assistance in figuring door and drawer front sizes for IKEA cabinetry. Customers may supply us with part numbers for a set of cabinets, and we can calculate the sizes of doors and drawer fronts. IKEA may change specifications of their products without our prior knowledge and therefore, confirming the sizes and quantity of all items before going ahead with an order is the responsibility of the Customer. We can usually ensure accuracy by confirming what we know about a part number or name by confirming dimensions over the phone or email.

Doors and drawer fronts are manufactured with a size tolerance of +/- 1/32” in width, height and thickness. Note that solid wood slab doors are manufactured with this tolerance but since wood will shrink and expand across the grain with varying humidity/moisture conditions, there is no warranty on the width of this type of door.

Solid wood dovetail drawer boxes are manufactured with an overall size tolerance of +/- 1/16” in width, depth and height.

Changes to Orders and Cancellations:

Scherr’s prefers to receive orders by email, fax or through our web site order/quote form. This is because it creates an agreed upon record of the details that we can both refer to. Orders received by phone will be carefully repeated back at the time of the call. All orders are considered correct and firm.

Scherr's assumes no responsibility for incorrect information received by mail, phone, fax or email. Please double check for accuracy whenever sending order information. Since all our items are custom made to your specifications, cancellations or changes to orders in process are subject to a $25 charge plus the cost of time and materials determined at the time of the request, unless it is within 24 hours from receipt of acknowledgment. Orders are in production usually within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. All changes and cancellations will be followed up by an acknowledgment. Changes and cancellations are not allowed on RUSH orders due to the immediacy of production.

Returns & Refunds:

Doors, drawer fronts, and dovetail drawer boxes are made to your sizes and/or specifications when placing your order, these items are not returnable since they are custom made and cannot be re-sold.

State and Local Taxes:

North Dakota residents must add 5% for state sales tax plus city/county sales tax if applicable. We will not charge sales tax to anyone outside of North Dakota - you are responsible for any local sales/usage taxes that may be due according to local tax laws.

Delivery/Production Time:

We require a lead-time of 10 to 15 business days on standard orders of doors and dovetail drawer boxes. Standard orders are orders of less than 100 doors and 50 drawer boxes. Add 5 to 7 business days for special types of wood and custom designs. NOTE: Lead-time will start over on orders changed or added to after they have been released for production according to the type of change requested. A sudden influx of orders may add to our normal lead-time, check when placing your order and place it ahead of time if you can. Applying a lacquer/stain finish will add to the lead-time, check when placing your order. Delivery (shipping) time is not included in the lead-time schedule, please allow additional time for the shipment delivery.

Our products are custom manufactured to your specifications by the hands of our skilled craftsmen. At Scherr’s we take pride in our work, and we stand behind our products. Shipping Damages:

When you receive a shipment, whether through UPS, FedEx, US Postage Service or common carrier, check each box, crate, or pallet for any damage. If there is visible damage to a package, open it immediately while in the presence of the company driver or sign for the package noting damages or the possibility of concealed damages. Refusing delivery will cause delays in processing damage claims.

The packaging materials used by Scherr’s exceed UPS requirements. All packages shipped by us are insured against damage, although Scherr's does not guarantee the shipments. If you receive any damaged items do NOT dispose of the packaging materials. YOU MUST HAVE THE DAMAGED PRODUCT WITH ITS BOX AND ALL PACKAGING MATERIALS TOGETHER IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT. REPACKAGE THE DAMAGED ITEMS BACK INTO THE ORIGINAL BOX WITH THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING MATERIALS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE WILL CAUSE UPS/FEDEX TO REFUSE PAYMENT ON INSURED ITEMS, AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP.

Report any damaged items immediately to Scherr's, we will assist you in the preparation of any claims and reordering of damaged items. If you sign for the shipment without any notes, this indicates that you have inspected the order and accept responsibility for the condition of its contents as it is.

In some instances damaged items may need to be shipped back to Scherr’s for inspection and/or repairs. Scherr’s is NOT responsible for charges incurred when shipping damaged items back to our facility.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to protect the delivered shipment from the elements in order to prevent damage to the contents.

Replacement items are shipped by the shipping method used on the original order.

Shortages or Errors on an Order:

Scherr’s takes many precautions to make sure all orders are shipped correct and complete. In the rare occasion, you find a discrepancy in an order, or missing items, contact us immediately. All shortages or discrepancies must be reported within 10 business days of receiving delivery.

Once an order is placed, we will fax or email an order confirmation to you. Please take time to confirm the quantities, sizes, and specifications are correct. Furthermore, make sure any added hardware to a door/drawer box order is included in the confirmation. Double-check the “ship to” address to confirm we have the correct information. Once we receive confirmation from you that the order is complete and correct, the order will go into production usually within 24 hours.

A mistake on Scherr’s part would be an item listed in the confirmation that is received a different size, quantity, or specification than what is shown.

Scherr’s will expedite the items missing or in error on our part, they will be treated as a “Rush Order” for scheduling for the remake.

Warranty, Cabinet Doors and Drawer Fronts:

Scherr's Cabinet & Doors warrants all standard products for one year from the date of shipment against faulty material and workmanship to the original purchaser. Natural variation in the color, texture or grain, including characteristics such as burls, mineral streaks, pin knots, etc. commonly found in wood will not be considered a defect and are not replaceable under this warranty (see “Wood Species, Doors” for descriptions of various woods available.) Scherr’s will not warranty varying color and grain match between orders. For maintaining continuity in color, grain and character, we recommend that you order complete projects. If you need to add items to a completed project and matching is a concern; we suggest that you send a sample with your order.

This Warranty covers replacement or repair of any component proved to be defective under normal use and care. This warranty does not cover defects caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, alterations, abnormal environmental conditions, improper storage and handling, or improper installation. Scherr's assumes no responsibility for damage, other than warping, incurred by the customer during storage, handling or the finishing process. This warranty does not cover any installation, removal, travel time of any kind, or the finishing costs of unfinished replacement products. Any requests from our standard construction specifications are not warranted. Due to the natural movement of real wood, cracks in painted or clear finishes at any wood joint or where a wood panel meets the frame is considered normal and not a defect. These natural movements can cause the development in offsets from one wood stave to another in solid panels and are not considered a defect. Scherr’s recommends applying a finish to unfinished products within two weeks once an order is delivered/received. Our liability under this warranty is limited to the net invoice price of the doors as sold to the original purchaser and under no circumstances, will Scherr’s be liable for special, indirect or consequential damages. The customer is responsible for any shipping charges to and from our manufacturing facility. There are no other warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.

All claims on doors and drawer fronts, including shortages, must be made within five days of receipt. Any product claimed to be defective workmanship or material must be returned unfinished, unless finished by Scherr’s, to the factory for our inspection. Credit will be issued subject to our inspection.

IMPORTANT: Doors and drawer fronts are required to be stored in areas that are not subject to abnormal heat, cold, humidity, dryness or direct sunlight. (Note: Some woods may discolor from exposure to direct or indirect sunlight.) Do not store doors in freshly plastered buildings or open areas that are humid or damp. Do not subject doors or drawer fronts to extreme moisture (bleaching, etc.). Scherr’s recommends that all real wood products are kept in a controlled environment throughout the year, with the relative humidity level maintained between 30% to 40% at all times. Do not impair the structural strength of doors when applying hardware or during installation. Finish the front, back, top, bottom and sides with an equal amount of finish, as soon as possible, to prevent unequal absorption or release of moisture.

Scherr's wood products are all manufactured at our facility in Minot, ND with the exception of some outsourced components.

Any products sold through our website online shopping section that falls under the classification of doors and/or drawer fronts made by Scherr’s is covered by this warranty.

Warranty, Dovetail Drawer Boxes:

Scherr's Cabinet & Doors warrants all standard products for one year from the date of shipment against faulty material and workmanship to the original purchaser. A greater natural variation is allowed in drawer boxes than our doors in the color, texture or grain, including characteristics such as burls, mineral streaks, pin knots, etc. commonly found in wood will not be considered a defect and are not replaceable under this warranty (see “Wood Species, Drawer Boxes” for descriptions of various woods available.)

Unassembled dovetail drawer boxes are not guaranteed to be exactly square or flat after assembly. Your results may vary depending on assembly methods utilized. Unassembled drawer boxes must be assembled as soon as possible after delivery to avoid absorption or release of moisture in the wood causing the dovetail pins and tails to swell or shrink affecting the fit of the joints during assembly. Drawer bottoms on certain wood species may be loose due to the natural thickness variations in plywood. Drawers assembled by Scherr’s will have the bottoms toe-nailed and/or hot glued into the dado groove for a solid rattle free drawer bottom.

All claims on drawer boxes, including shortages, must be made within five days of receipt. Any product claimed to be defective workmanship or material must be returned unfinished, unless finished by Scherr’s, to the factory for our inspection. Credit will be issued subject to our inspection.

Our liability under this warranty is limited to the net invoice price of the drawer boxes as sold to the original purchaser and under no circumstances, will Scherr’s be liable for special, indirect or consequential damages. The customer is responsible for any shipping charges to and from our manufacturing facility. There are no other warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.
